We know there is great investment that goes into planning a wedding and we would be honored to help you invest in preparing your heart, mind, and soul for the commitment and gift of a lifelong and healthy marriage. If you are looking for a pastor to officiate your wedding or are wanting to invest in developing a strong foundation for a lasting marriage through a premarital process, we would love to help you walk through these next steps.

How do we get connected to a pastor to officiate our wedding?

Can I go through the premarital process even if I don't need an officiant?

Is there a cost for premarital mentoring?

The cost for the premarital process through Church of the City starts at $100. This amount includes (1) the initial Symbis Assessment, (2) Tim Keller’s book, The Meaning of Marriage, to be used as study material with your Premarital Facilitator, (3) the premarital experience budget that ensures a great experience for you both to prepare for your marriage. This is an investment in your marriage, and we are so excited to be a part of your journey with you!

The cost is $100, assuming that you are available during COTC work hours (Monday-Thursday, 9a-5p).
We ask $150 if you need to schedule your sessions for Sundays after our 11am service (2p-5p).

Once you complete the premarital process, you can be provided with a notarized certificate of completion which offers you a $60 exemption from the fee associated with your marriage license. Please request this from your Premarital Facilitator at the completion of the process.

If the cost of either the premarital process is a hindrance to you being a part of this process with us, please do not hesitate to reach out for a discounted rate. These prices are based on our current context in Nashville, as well as our other COTC Churches, but we know that this may not be possible for everyone’s socioeconomic status.

Is there a fee for the officiant?

We recommend an honorarium of $400 be provided to the COTC pastor for the day of your wedding. We will send you a payment link to submit this amount ~2 weeks before your wedding date. Before the wedding, your officiant will schedule a meeting with you to talk through details of the ceremony, giving you total confidence in how the ceremony will go on the day of your wedding. If you have any additional requests of the pastor performing your wedding ceremony (i.e. travel, rehearsal, etc…) they can be discussed with the pastor directly.
